We keep your books level so you can keep building

Running a construction business means juggling a lot - projects, materials, crews, clients, and deadlines. Bookkeeping shouldn’t be another job on your list. That’s where Backroad Bookkeeping comes in.

We specialize in bookkeeping for builders, contractors, and tradespeople who want their finances to be as solid and dependable as the structures they build.

Our story

Backroad Bookkeeping started with one simple idea: hardworking business owners deserve bookkeeping that’s just as reliable as they are. We noticed how many contractors were struggling with complicated systems, unclear reports, and piles of receipts.

So we built a service that’s easy to understand, customized for the construction industry, and actually helpful. No more jargon or judgment - just clean books & clear communication.

Our values

  • Simplicity. Bookkeeping doesn’t have to be confusing. We keep it clear and straightforward.

  • Reliability. You can count on us to deliver accurate, on-time work, every single month.

  • Partnership. We’re more than a bookkeeping service - we’re part of your team, helping you make smart financial decisions.

  • Honesty. You’ll always know where your numbers stand and what they mean.

Why we focus on builders

We chose to serve the construction industry because we understand it. You deal with project-based work, variable income, and complex job costs - all of which require bookkeeping that fits your reality.

We help you stay organized, compliant, and ready for whatever comes next. Whether you’re managing multiple crews or just starting out on your own, we’ll make sure your books are built right.

Meet Angela

Hi, I’m Angela, the owner of Backroad Bookkeeping. I bring more than 15 years of bookkeeping experience to the table, along with my certification as a QuickBooks Pro Advisor. Numbers, systems, and financial clarity are my comfort zone, and I genuinely enjoy helping business owners feel more confident in theirs.

Before starting Backroad Bookkeeping, I spent four years doing bookkeeping in a lumber yard. That experience didn’t just teach me the nuts and bolts of construction-related bookkeeping — it gave me a chance to build relationships with contractors, tradespeople, and builders of all kinds. I learned how hard you work, how unpredictable the industry can be, and how much you rely on clear, accurate financial information to keep your projects moving.

Over and over, I heard the same frustration from contractors about bookkeepers who didn’t understand the construction world. Job costing, materials, subs, progress billing, fluctuating timelines - it’s not like other industries. And when your bookkeeper doesn’t get it, you end up paying for it.

So I decided to create a bookkeeping service that truly fits the construction industry. Backroad Bookkeeping exists because builders deserve a bookkeeper who speaks their language and understands what makes their businesses unique.

When you work with me, you get someone who is friendly, dependable, and committed to getting your books right every single month. I’m here to give you peace of mind, clean books, and a smoother path forward, so you can focus on building strong projects and an even stronger business.
